We're looking to hire a Recruiting Manager/Director on behalf of our client, a growing, PE-backed commercial HVAC and plumbing services company. This business is scaling nationally through acquisition and integration of market leading family-owned companies, which retain their local identity and brand. They currently have 5 companies within their portfolio and ~500 field technicians.
The Recruiting Manager/Director will be responsible for building out the recruitment infrastructure and capabilities,while simultaneously executing recruitment for field technicians with a focus on continually raising the bar for talent. In this role, you'll work closely with the portfolio company CFO, and local business unit CEOs and HR teams to manage the recruitment process from end-to-end; sourcing, interviewing, and negotiating offers for a robust pipeline of top talent.
The company does not yet have an ATS, nor recruitment tools. You'll be responsible for identifying and procuring the right tools for the job and will work with the leadership team to set the budget. The volume of recruitment will be somewhat low at the onset (5-10 hires per quarter), but will pick up as the business picks up. You'll be expected to build out the process to accommodate scaling. This is an individual contributor role which will report to the Co-CEO to start, but which will ultimately report into a Head of Talent who will be hired later in the year to build out the overarching talent development strategy across the portfolio. The portfolio companies are market leaders with good people development practices and solid track records of retention. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience driving recruitment for field technicians within HVAC & plumbing, retail field with populations of technicians, or a retail tech start-up with a large technical hourly workforce. While experience building out the function from the ground up is preferred, our client will consider candidates who have experience in established companies and an entrepreneurial spirit with an appetite to build a best in class recruitment capability. Our client's headquarters will be based in NYC. While proximity to NYC would be beneficial for meetings with the executive leadership team, our client is open to considering remote candidates nationally.
