I am delighted to partnering with an innovative organisation that inspires people and businesses across the UK and Ireland within the scientific space. They are looking to appoint a Head of Diversity and Inclusion to continue to drive the strategy as an absolute priority in the organisation.
As Head of Diversity and Inclusion you will pivotal in shaping the D&I agenda both internally facing and with external businesses linked to the organisation. Working with the Senior leadership team you will position the organisation as a leading professional body in diversity and inclusion drawing on best practice from within and outside the science and academic space. You will design and embed thought leadership and ensure the D&I strategy leads to change across the scientific space in order to meet ambitious objectives of change. A pivotal role for the organisation you will ensure all diversity and inclusion best practise and compliance is always adhered to and monitored. You will provide expert advice to the internal employee diversity and inclusion programme and to the senior management team.
It is integral to all scientific fields to promote the importance of clear diversity and inclusion strategies by engaging new talent via routes such as education, community and businesses. This role will be pinnacle to attracting this interest and the ability to implement key action plans to achieve this. This organisation has put D&I at the heart of is business strategy, working with the Directors and your own team of two D&I advisors you will promote and build effective D&I policies and work with groups within the organisation focusing on this strategy.
To be successful in this role you will be the key leader of Diversity and Inclusion for your business at a mid to senior level. You will have built a D&I strategy and understand the importance of imbedding this in a business and will be able to demonstrate your work with senior leaders using influencing skills. A practical yet approachable D&I professional you will be able to work with Director to Board level stakeholders in order to highlight key changes, legal requirements and thought leadership in this space. You do not have to have come from a scientific background but understand the challenges facing the sector in terms of promoting D&I. This role will often mean meeting influential people outside of the organisation so you will need to be an expert in your field and have the ability to network and be a key driver for change. To note this role does not sit with HR although it will support any internal talent attraction, retention and employee relations cases linked to D&I on the basis of knowledge with the D&I space.
Salary: Circa £60,000 + WFH and flexible working options
