The Contracts Executive will support the centralised contracts process, with a focus on our US business (but also supporting all other territories as required).

The role holder will be responsible for delivering contract review/commentary services to the business, working with the Client Services team based in the UK to ensure that we are coordinated and aligned.

The role will be based in the US but will work with and report into the wider team.

  • Conducting full reviews of Client terms of business and variation requests to group standard terms, on a global basis.
  • Assisting in negotiations to finalise terms.
  • Support internal stakeholders with a diverse range of commercial/contracts queries.
  • Conduct commercial analysis of existing contractual relationships.
  • Proactively assist in identifying commercially value-adding activities and deploying the same via structured team projects.



  • Review client terms of business and provide internal feedback to consultants - training and sector-specific insights will be provided - with primary focus being on US markets.
  • Conduct contract negotiations to ensure that the Group is operating under most viable terms
  • Attend contract negotiation calls/meetings to clarify the Group's commercial position
  • Review variation to standard Terms of Business requests and create letters of variation to go to Clients.
  • Effectively manage stakeholder expectations i.e. turnaround time frames. The ability to appropriately prioritise is essential.
  • Answer contract queries from consultants e.g. confirming commercial fee arrangements.
  • Follow up with internal stakeholders to aid in ensuring a smooth process from contract review to signature.
  • Assist with maintaining the contracts database and intranet content management.


  • Maintain excellent internal relationships (Partners, Fee Earners, Finance etc) to facilitate delivery of services
  • Liaise with other Business Services functions (e.g. Legal, Marketing, Finance) to gather and share information and best practice
  • Ad hoc duties which add value to the team and the wider Group


  • Law degree OR post-grad Legal courses prefered
  • Ideally, a minimum of 1 years' experience gained in a commercial business environment - an understanding of common commercial considerations relating to the recruitment sector would be a distinct advantage
  • Keen attention to detail and a proven ability to deliver excellent standards of service to multiple stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to be highly-organised and motivated with the determination to add value and contribute to a highly successful and close knit team
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite; experience of using SharePoint an advantage
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workloads
  • Able to develop and follow defined processes to achieve consistent results


  • Proactive and persuasive, confident in communicating at all levels of seniority and able to 'manage upwards' when required
  • Demonstrate a wide variety of communication skills - writes, speaks and presents clearly and professionally
  • Keen attention to detail and a proven ability to deliver excellent standards of service to multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to 'self-manage' workload, working alongside a non-local team based in a different timezone
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight, non-negotiable deadlines across a range of projects

  • Demonstrates excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
