Chief People Officer

We are delighted to be working with a leading manufacturer who are looking to hire a Chief People Officer to be based in Cardiff or Northern Ireland. The business has a high performing, open and transparent culture, and this is a great opportunity to lead the People agenda as the business continues to grow and develop.

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with Directors and Senior Leadership, the CPO will be responsible for aligning the Group People Strategy to the Group Strategy. The role will lead on all HR and workforce matters to develop leadership capacity and capability to support enhanced performance, retention, recruitment and the engagement of employees. It will lead on the Groups leadership strategy and ensure that succession planning, talent management and future leadership requirements are all in place. There are also some key change & transformation projects that need to be managed alongside business restructuring and organisation design of the target operating model for several business areas.

Managing and leading a team of 15+, the People team supports a headcount of c.800 that includes all head office functions and three manufacturing sites. The company itself exports to over 60 countries worldwide through a network of distributors as well as direct routes in UK&I, France, Netherlands and Japan.

Your experience will have been gained within a manufacturing environment, this could range from hi-tech, chemical or medical device manufacturing through to aviation, pharmaceutical or electrical equipment. You will possess significant experience at HR Director/CPO level with clear evidence of driving the People Strategy and agenda while working closely with Board, Director and Senior Leadership. You will have led and managed a similar sized HR team with responsibility across L&D, employee relations, OD, talent acquisition and management, performance, leadership development and remuneration. Experience across global geographies is desirable. It goes without saying that you will be commercially driven with strong communication skills and able to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

This position can be based in either Cardiff or Northern Ireland and with visibility across both locations. Travel will therefore be involved combined with the ability to work from home. The position comes with a significant £basic salary + car allowance + bonus + generous pension and benefits.
